We Believe. We Give. 2021

We Believe. We Give. is the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation's annual day of giving. This 27-hour campaign is an international effort to inspire undergraduate and alumnae members, as well as parents and friends of Alpha Delta Pi to support our efforts to Educate. Lead. and Serve. with a gift of any size, to any area of focus.

We begin on Founders' Day: May 15, 2021 beginning at 9 a.m. ET, ending 27 hours later at Noon ET on May 16, 2021. When the Day of Giving goes live, there will be a "Give Now" button that appears at the top of the website.

Our area of greatest need is the Annual Fund, which allows us to allocate resources wherever the need is greatest, including to:

- support ongoing programs to combat sexual assault and hazing

- provide training and speakers for virtual and in-person leadership education

- provide opportunities for mental wellness programs

- enhance programs like the Delta Member Experience

Your gift to the Annual Fund on the Day of Giving will help us continue to offer these amazing resources, as well as be prepared for new opportunities to support our Alpha Delta Pi sisters throughout the year.

Yes! There are different ways to support your chapter:

Directly - if they have a scholarship, leadership fund, or educational housing fund established (not all chapters have a chapter-specific fund established yet)

Indirectly - through many areas of focus that support ALL chapters, such as programs to prevent sexual assault and hazing, programs to support mental wellness, and emergency grants for undergraduate or alumnae members in financial distress; also, gifts to the Annual Fund (our area of greatest need) benefit ALL members by allowing us to allocate resources where they are most needed

We Believe. We Give. is a day for ALL Alpha Delta Pi sisters to be inspired. Here are some ways that you can get involved:

1. Serve as a Day of Giving Ambassador - help us reach your chapter sisters, alumnae, parents, and friends to encourage their support

2. Join the 1851 Violet Circle (our undergraduate giving society) if you haven't already

3. Make a gift - gifts both small and large help Educate. Lead. and Serve. our sisterhood

Yes. Your gift through Day of Giving will apply to your recognition in the Foundation's Honor Roll of Donors for the 2020-2021 giving year. See our Annual and Lifetime Giving Clubs on our website. Our giving year is August 1st through July 31st. Check out your Giving History on Pride Online to see your total contributions and giving club level for this giving year.

Yes, we have a way to support Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) through We Believe. We Give. too! Did you know that our chapters and alumnae associations support around 40% of RMHC's facilities? Our growing RMHC Endowment at the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation will be a permanent endowment that allows ADPi to expand our support of RMHC across the globe, even to those houses that do not have a chapter or alumnae association nearby. We have granted $50,000 through this program since the inaugural grants were announced in 2019.

Yes! The Alpha Delta Pi Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so your gifts are tax-deductible. Please retain your email receipt for tax purposes.

In fact, the CARES Act passed in 2020 included several charitable tax provisions to encourage giving. Congress has extended these provisions for 2021 including:

- A deduction for charitable donors who do not itemize when filing their tax returns. If you do not itemize but make a cash gift to a charity like the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation, you will be allowed to take a special tax deduction, up to $300 ($600 for joint filers), to reduce your tax liability.

- An increase in the deduction limit up to 100% of a donor’s annual income for cash gifts (previously the deduction was capped at 60% of annual income). If you make a gift to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation, you will be able to deduct more this year.

Yes. Monthly giving is an easy, automatic way to support the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation. It is convenient, customizable, and environmentally friendly, and it helps ensure a steady source of funding for the Foundation.

Simply select "recurring" when you submit your donation. All recurring gifts set up on Day of Giving will count as a pledge towards our Day of Giving totals up to one year - i.e. if you set up a monthly gift of $25 for the next year, we will count your $300 pledge towards our totals for the day. Absolutely! After you make your gift, you will receive a confirmation email that can be used for tax purposes.
