The Amanda Beth Castellone Scholarship for Music Performance was established by Debbie Roeber Castellone, Gamma Tau—University of Vermont, in honor of her daughter Amanda Beth Castellone, Omega Alpha—Alumnae Initiate, to benefit members pursuing a degree in music performance. The 2019-2020 recipient was Rachel Myers, Delta Pi—Ripon College.

 

The Betty L. Miller Scholarship for Math, Math Education, and Chemical Engineering Majors was established by Karen Galentine, Alpha Upsilon—West Virginia University, in honor of "Aunt Betty" Miller, Alpha Upsilon—West Virginia University, to benefit members pursuing a degree in math, math education or chemical engineering. The 2019-2020 recipient was Spirit Karcher, Theta Nu—Christopher Newport University.

 

The Global Education Fund for Global Studies Education was established by Renee Bailey Iacona, Delta Upsilon—University of Tennessee, Martin, to benefit members in the pursuit of education and leadership training opportunities offered through global studies programs. This scholarship will be awarded for the first time in 2020-2021.

 

The Joan Reisch Boddie Scholarship for Studies in STEM was established in 2017 by Joan Reisch Boddie, Beta Pi—University of Cincinnati, to benefit members pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering, or math related field. The 2019-2020 recipient was Lauren Davis, Gamma Chi—Texas Christian University.

 

The Maxine U. Blake Journalism Award was established by Alpha Delta Pi Sorority in honor of Maxine Blake, Grand President Emeritus, to benefit junior or senior members majoring in journalism or for graduate members in an accredited journalism program. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Jordan Holt, Eta—University of Alabama.

 

The Renee Bailey Iacona Scholarship for Science, Math, or Technology Majors was established in 2014 as part of the We Believe Campaign by Renee Bailey Iacona, Delta Upsilon—University of Tennessee, Martin, to benefit members pursuing a degree in math, science, or technology related field. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Callie Lane, Delta Phi—University of Missouri, Kansas City.

 

Geographic

 

The Anne Veale Pogson Scholarship was established in 1994 by Gladys Watford in honor of her niece Anne Veale Pogson, Alpha Zeta—Southern Methodist University, recognizing Anne's many years of dedicated service as an alumna and as Grand Vice President of Alumnae on Grand Council. This scholarship is to benefit members of any chapter in the state of Texas. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Carolyn Adams, Gamma Chi—Texas Christian University.

 

The Deen Day Sanders Scholarship was established in 2017 by the Greater Atlanta Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association to benefit members of any chapter in the state of Georgia. As of February 25th, this fund was $12,692 away from being fully endowed.

 

The Hoyt-Jolley Foundation Scholarship was established in 1996 by the Ruth R. Hoyt-Anne H. Jolley Foundation to benefit members of any chapter in the states of Florida or Georgia. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Sabrina Soto Sugar, Delta Alpha—Emory University.

 

The Missouri State Scholarship was established in 1989 by the St. Louis Alumnae Association in memory of Caralee Strock Stanard to benefit members of any chapter in the state of Missouri or members of any chapter who graduated from a Missouri high school. This scholarship is currently awarded thanks to supplemental funds from the general scholarship fund. This fund was established long before the minimum endowment level was raised to $25,000. An additional $21,074 would allow this fund to stand on its own. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Sarah Peterson, Delta Sigma—University of Mississippi.

 

The North Carolina Lion's Share Scholarship was established in 1989 to benefit members of any chapter in the state of North Carolina. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Iyanna Huffington, Zeta Psi—University of North Carolina, Greensboro.

 

General

 

Our General Scholarship Fund is the Virginia T. Cooney Scholarship Fund, established in 2000 by an estate gift from Virginia T. Cooney, Alpha Tau—Syracuse University. This fund provides nationally-competitive scholarships for undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education, as well as supplement the awards from other scholarship funds. The 2019-2020 recipients of this scholarship included:

  • Amanda Cirillo, Zeta Nu—Clemson University
  • Rebecca Clem, Delta Alpha—Emory University
  • Lauren Sill, Zeta Zeta—Augusta University
  • Jolie R. Quinn, Gamma Mu—Missouri State University

 

The 150th Anniversary Scholarship was established by Alpha Delta Pi Sorority to commemorate its 150th anniversary in 2001 for the benefit of members pursuing graduate or continuing education studies in any health field. The 2019-2020 recipients of this scholarship included:

  • Darcy Callaway, Beta Sigma—Mercer University
  • Devon Cassidy, Beta Epsilon—University of South Carolina
  • Margaret Driscoll, Zeta Pi—University of San Diego
  • Caylor Mark, Delta Theta—Valdosta State University

 

The Berit Henriksen Carter Scholarship was established by the Charitable Remainder Trust of Berit Henriksen Carter, Beta Lambda—Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, to benefit undergraduate members. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Megan Leben, Epsilon Pi—Georgia Southern University.

 

The Betty Clapsaddle Riley Scholarship for Graduate or Continuing Education was established in 1991 in memory of Betty Clapsaddle Riley, Gamma Kappa—West Virginia Wesleyan College, for an alumna who completed her last degree or college enrollment at least five years ago to acquire marketable skills or upgrade her professional goals. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Chelsea Zigtema, Pi—Iowa State University.

 

The Caralee Strock Stanard Scholarship was established in memory of Caralee Strock Stanard to benefit members during their junior or senior year. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Kennedy Freeman, Beta Sigma—Mercer University.

 

The Gift Mart Scholarship was established to benefit an undergraduate member of Alpha Delta Pi. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Hannah Wareham, Zeta Gamma—University of North Carolina, Charlotte.

 

The Gus and Ernestine Medley Memorial Scholarship is a nationally-competitive scholarship established in 2012 by Terry Medley Curtis, Gamma Rho—Arizona State University, in memory of her parents. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Karen McKenzie, Gamma Chi—Texas Christian University.

 

The Kathryn M. Strong Graduate Fellowship was established in 1985 with an estate gift from Kathryn McKee Strong, Alpha Alpha—University of Colorado, to benefit members pursuing graduate education. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Nicole Zeman, Delta Pi—Ripon College.

 

The Letson Family Returning Professional Scholarship was established in 2019 by Dianne Liston Letson, Alpha Alpha—University of Colorado, and Laura Letson, Beta Psi—University of Kentucky, to benefit alumnae seeking to acquire marketable skills or upgrade their professional goals, having completed their last degree at least five years ago.

 

The Linda Yarnell O’Brian Scholarship is a nationally-competitive scholarship established in 2016 by Linda Yarnell O'Brian, Chi—Wittenberg University. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Anna Wondrasek, Theta Eta—Drake University.

 

The Lucille Barksdale and Darwin S. Renner Memorial Scholarship was established by Darwin S. Renner to benefit a member entering her senior year. The 2019-2020 recipients of this scholarship were Haley Crews, Gamma Theta—University of Mount Union, and Jillian Michales, Gamma Omicron—Susquehanna University.

 

The Marilyn Mayer Long Chapter Officer Scholarship was established by Marilyn Mayer Long, Epsilon—Sophie Newcomb College, for the benefit of a chapter officer during her junior or senior year. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Michaela Wright, Gamma Upsilon—University of North Texas.

 

The Mary Currier Allen Scholarship was established in honor of Mary Currier Allen, past Grand Vice President of Collegiate Chapters to benefit members in their junior or senior year. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Brooke Burton, Gamma Mu—Missouri State University.

 

The Mary Kelly Shearer Scholarship is a nationally-competitive scholarship established in 1988 by Mary Keller Shearer, Pi—Iowa State University, whose home in Ames, Iowa served as Executive Office when she served as Executive Secretary. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Haley Nelson, Alpha Epsilon—University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

 

The Mary Lane Cady Scholarship was established by Mary Lane Cady, Rho—Boston University, for graduate or continuing education study. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Julia Castanet, Eta Phi—Furman University.

 

The Ruth Pretty Palmer Scholarship is a nationally-competitive scholarship established in 1998 in memory of Ruth Pretty Palmer, Sigma—University of Illinois, by friends, family, and the Trustees of the Foundation. The 2019-2020 recipient of this scholarship was Abigail Osborn, Theta Delta—University of Delaware.

 

The Stephanie Bauer Daniel Scholarship for Leadership Consultants was established by Stephanie Bauer Daniel, Gamma Phi—East Tennessee State University, to benefit current and former leadership consultants. It will be available to be awarded for the first time in the 2020-2021 school year.

 

The Terry Medley Curtis Scholarship is a nationally-competitive scholarship established in 2017 by Terry Medley Curtis, Gamma Rho—Arizona State University. The 2019-2020 scholarship recipient was Katlyn Logsdon, Theta Nu—Christopher Newport University.

 

The Virginia Rosenberg Stafford Scholarship was established by Virginia Rosenberg Stafford, past Grand President, for the benefit of members serving as international officers, committee members, or advisory board members. The 2019-2020 recipient of this award was Brianna Anderson, Sigma—University of Illinois.

The top two scholarships that raise the most money in the next hour will receive bonus gifts thanks to Jan Hancock Wooldridge, Alpha Zeta. The reward for 1st place is a bonus $1,000, and 2nd place receives $500. Please note that some scholarships apply to multiple chapters and may end up on the leaderboard more than once. We will manually tally the results at the end of the hour to aggregate these gifts, so the final result may look different than the leaderboard on the website. The final results will be announced on Facebook at 7:30pm.
